MULTI-PARAMETRIC PROBE FOR THE QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE
SURFACE AND GROUND WATER MONITORING
UNDERGROUND & SURFACE WATER RESOURCES MONITORING
SYSTEM
- Installation of a continuous qualitative and quantitative
monitoring network of surface (lakes, rivers)
and underground water resources
with sensors of programmed
data registering.
- Wireless
transmission of the sensor's measurements to a central registration system (data
- logger).
- Transmission of data/measurements in
real-time mode, through a GSM telecommunication network from the central
registration system (data-logger) to all the directly involved end-users and
decision making centers.
-
Data processing and
analysis.
-
Development of a data base that will be of increased added value to future
researches and water resources' management studies.
- Data
processing and construction of hydrochemical GIS-ARC VIEW maps. Correlation of
the pollution to the aquifer's depth and connection to focal points / sources of
pollution.
-
Development of an early warning system in case the aquifers' level drops
below predefined levels or the pollutants exceed the limits set by the E.U. 2000/60
Framework Directive.
Advantages - Innovation
- The monitoring system can record simultaneously up to 15 physical-chemical parameters.
- This
multi-parameter sensor is accompanied by a modern software package for the
operation/calibration of the ion selective electrodes, as well as the processing
and transmission of data.
- This monitoring
sensor can be submerged into wells down to 150m.
- There is the
possibility of real-time data transfer.
- There is the
possibility of immediate warning (alarm system) in case the concentrations of
physical-chemical parameters exceed preset values (limits set by the E.U.).
-
Connection to a GIS data base where all the information necessary for the
overall water management will be registered.
